Chair Game

Let's play a game...here are the rules:

  • Face a wall and take 3 steps back
  • Place a chair in front of you
  • Bend over with a flat back and the top of your head against the wall
  • Lift the chair and try to stand up

Apparently women can lift the chair and stand but men can't stand while holding the chair. I saw this on a show that I was watching and I'm curious if it is really true. Try it out and let me know.

Oh, The Security

I get paid every two weeks with both of my jobs. The nice thing is that they pay on different weeks, so it's like I get paid every week. I signed up for direct deposit at both the jobs but it takes a couple of paychecks before the direct deposit works. At Palais Royal they don't do paper checks at all. They do this stupid pay card thingy that really sucks. Since my direct deposit hasn't gone through yet, my money is on some stupid pay card. I hate it! Since they call me in to work on my days off, I haven't had the time to go to the bank and see if they can transfer the money from the card to my actual account. I'm super annoyed cause I can't pay my bills with this stupid card. At least at Gymboree they give me a paper check until the direct deposit works. I was finally able to deposit some money in my account and it feels so amazing to have money in my account now. I should be able to start paying my own bills next month. Yeah!! Time to get out of debt.

The Virginian

My parents are huge western fans and they have been watching this western series from the 1960's called The Virginian. They started talking about the show when they came to Utah to get me. I've never liked westerns so I didn't really care to watch the show. They told me that one of the characters was named Trampas and that he was really good looking. My mom told me that I would really like Trampas if I gave the show a try. After we got back to Texas I decided to give The Virginian a shot. The first episode I watched was really boring and I didn't even think Trampas was all that good looking. My parents watched the show everyday and I would sit on the couch and work on the computer and occasionally pop my head up to see what was going on in the show. I really thought that the show was boring and didn't know what my parents liked so much about it.
After watching a few episodes, I finally watched one that I thought was really good. Out of nowhere I've become addicted to the show. Everyday we sit together and watch The Virginian while we eat dinner. My favorite part of the day is when I get to watch The Virginian with my parents. I think that I've started to get to know the characters a little, and that has helped me to enjoy it. My mom's favorite character by far is Trampas, but I would have to say that my favorite character is The Virginian played by James Drury.
He sure is a beautiful man and he has a very sexy and low voice.
I also like Steve Hill played by Gary Clarke.

My mom doesn't like Steve but I think he is hot. Not quite as hot as The Virginian...but pretty close. I'd choose him over Trampas whose is played by Doug McClure.

It's not a very good picture of him but he still isn't as hot as the other two.

There are several other characters but these are the main ones that we like.

There are our boys, a bunch of 1960's hunks!! Ooo lah lah!!

Inbox Message

I love this screen when there is a little red 1 next to my inbox!! That means that John Doe has a message for me. Remember John Doe? I talked about him back in February.
Well, we are still talking of the possibilities of getting together. He plans of coming to Houston sometime this year to see me. We haven't decided what we will do when he gets here but we will at least see if there is anything between us still. I'm really excited but really nervous at the same time. I don't know when he will come either. He hasn't decided yet. It's still a little early to see if anything will happen. At least we have plenty of good conversations.
You have no idea what that red 1 does to me when I see it!!!
I get all flush and a little shaky. I sometimes get a nice tingling sensation down in my feminine area. I usually can't help but smile when I read his messages. I'm just glad that things are looking pretty good at this point. I sure love that little red 1!!

I Survived

I survived working a 12 hour day today!!! I worked from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with less than an hour break. I was dreading today more than anything. To be honest, it wasn't as bad as I was thinking it was going to be. I'm used to being on my toes from working at Macy's. The shoe department always kept me busy and I'm grateful that I was experienced with that type of work to keep me going with my jobs today. However, it felt amazing sitting down on the couch when I got home. I'm looking forward to going to sleep in a few. My pillow feels so soft and plush....mmm! I think my next weeks schedules are going to be better than today's was!

A Drive Through Memory Lane

I've been trying to be productive since I've been here in Texas. I had my own personal goals which consisted of: 1. Getting a job and 2. Getting enrolled in school. Now that I've worked almost 2 weeks at my jobs, I decided it was time to make a trip to the college and get things started with my registration and enrollment. My dad suggested that I get my licence changed to a Texas one before I go to the college. I woke up this morning extremely exhausted from work but I forced myself to get up and going. My blonde moment of the day was when I arrived at the DMV and realized that it isn't free to get a licence and vehicle registration. Dah!! I'm still broke and I haven't been paid yet, so I'm just glad I remembered this before I waited in line for who knows how long and humiliated myself. I decided to make the best of my trip and so I went for a drive around town. I drove past my High School and was shocked to see it completely remodeled. It doesn't even look the same. The 9th grade campus is now a middle school and there is tons of growth (churches and buildings) in places that was all trees when I went to school there. Crazy! I then decided to drive past the ballet studio where I lived for most of my childhood. The sign was different and I noticed the doors and windows were all taped and boarded up. Sadness... :-( I knew they were planning on relocating but it was sad to see it like that. I also drove past the college to get a feel of things and see where I would need to go for enrollment. The college has changed a little but mostly looks the way I remember it. As I drove back home, I decided to drive through my neighborhood and look at some of the homes I always liked when I was growing up. There has even been some new growth in that old neighborhood since I've been away. So much has changed in the past 7 years and I can't believe it.

He's Still Alive?

When I was growing up, there was this little old man that always rode his bike around the neighborhood. He rode every single day and he always made an effort to smile and wave as he passed. My whole family liked him and was impressed that he got out and got his exercise. I remember he always wore these really short shorts, a collared golf looking shirt and a baseball hat.
A few days ago while I was driving home, I passed a little old man walking in the neighborhood. I was at a stop sign when I noticed him smiling and waving at me. I smiled and waved back and then it dawned on me......he was the bicycle man. I couldn't believe he was still alive and active. He may not be able to ride his bike anymore but he still makes the effort to get out and get his exercise. I'm highly impressed. No doubt all that bike riding and walking has helped him live longer!

What Was I Thinking?

I was offered two jobs last week and I decided to accept both. Both are part time jobs and I figured that it would be like working a full time job.

I started both jobs today and I'm feeling a little frazzled now that I'm home and can finally think. I don't know what I was thinking when I accepted to work at two different retail stores. Each store is completely different. I'm having to remember two different register systems and different promotions. I have a different employee number for each store and I'm horrible at remembering numbers. The one register system is very confusing and I struggled a little today. The other store won't let me train on the register for 2 weeks. I'm just trying to retain all the information I learned today and separate them from the two stores. I know that in the long run I'm going to be just fine. I learn really fast and I have tons of retail experience to help me along the way. I'm just feeling the stress of learning two different jobs at the exact same time! Crazy!!
