Christmas Tag

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? I'm a horrible wrapper so I usually use bags and tissue. I'm good at placing the tissue in the bag!

2. Real tree or Artificial? Artificial! I grew up with an artificial tree so I wouldn't know how to keep a real one alive! Too much work if you ask me. Spray some pine scent if you want that Christmas feel!

3. When do you put up the tree? I'm not putting ours up this year. Our apartment is too small. In years past I tried to get it up after Thanksgiving!

My Favorite Christmas Movies

With only 9 days left till Christmas I decided it was time to start watching some of my favorite Christmas movies. I thought it might be fun to share what some of those movies are. Keep in mind that these are only a select few and there is no particular order.

HOME ALONe
I just barely watched this one. I think everyone loves this movie. The story is so creative and it has a happy ending. I love the music too! One of my favorite parts is when Kevin puts the taranchula on Marve's face and he screams like a little girl. I laugh so hard at that part.

Christmas VacationThis movie just has way too many funny parts to pick one. The movie is funny from start to finish and I think everyone should see this if you haven't. Sensitive people should see an edited version, though nothing super bad is in it!

White ChristmasI used to watch this every year with my mom. I made Grant watch it one year and he didn't care for it. He claims there is nothing Christmas about the movie and I concur. The only Christmas part is at the very end. However, I still love the movie and enjoy watching it with my sister every year!

The Santa ClauseThis is the best of the series. It's actually the only one I've seen but the other 2 look stupid. I think Tim Allen is funny and the kid who plays his son is adorable!

Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer
I have fond memories of this movie. I watched it every year as a little girl. There were several clay-mation movies made for Christmas but this is my all time favorite. Everyone loves this movie. It was made in the 50's (I think) and kids still love it now in 2008! Rudolph is so cute!

The NutcrackerIf you read my previous post you already know that the Nutcracker is special to me, but this motion picture is especially precious to me. This is the first ballet I ever watched when I was about 3 years old. My mom put this on TV hoping that I would watch it but little did she know that I would actually be mesmerized by it. I watched the whole thing without getting bored. My mom knew she had a little ballerina in the family after that. What makes this Nutcracker so much better than all the others? Mikhail Baryshnikov! He was one of the best if not the best ballet dancer of all time. He was awesome!!!

The Nutcracker PrinceI enjoy watching this with my niece!

ElfThis is an awesome Will Ferrell movie. Not much of his stuff is clean but elf is clean and funny!

What are some of your favorite Christmas movies?

The Nutcracker

The Nutcracker Ballet is very special to me since I personally performed in the ballet for at least 9 years. The ballet company I danced in only ever performed The Nutcracker. Other pieces that we performed were dances that were choreographed for us. So The Nutcracker was the only full ballet that our company performed. When I moved to Utah 5 years ago my Grandma thought it would be fun to take me to the Ballet West production of The Nutcracker. I loved it. I had never seen a professional company perform anything. It has become a tradition to see The Nutcracker every year with my grandma, aunt, cousin and sister.
I'm sure that Ballet West isn't the best professional company out there but I think they do a marvelous job and I sure enjoy to watch them. The summer after I graduated from High School I danced with the Ballet West Academy Summer Program. It was a really neat experience. Some of the company members came and took class with us (I was in the top class) to keep in shape and that was pretty cool.
This is Jason Linsley and he is a Soloist with Ballet West. He was one of the company members that was in my class. I had a super huge crush on him that summer. I felt so privileged when the teacher asked me to demonstrate a lift in class with Jason. It was AWESOME!!! I clap extra hard for him when he dances!!

So today I went to The Nutcracker!
It was pretty awesome. I almost didn't go because I've been feeling a little under the weather, but I'm glad I made the choice to go.
Every year I buy a Nutcracker for sentimental reasons. This is the one I bought today.I bought this one at Macy's! Cute little Mouse King!
Me, my cousin and my sister after The Nutcracker!

A Huge Dilemma & Much Depression

I was fairly blonde as a child and I'd have to say that my hair color was gorgeous! My hair started to change color the more I aged and I'd have to say that my natural color is a mix between strawberry blonde and dirty blonde. I've been coloring my hair since I was 18 years old and I finally decided to be bold and bleach my hair. So at the beginning of the year I had my hair dresser bleach my hair. This is what we got! Pretty huh? I think so.
My hair lady gave me this special conditioner and told me to use it at least 3 times a week. I was a good girl and obeyed for the most part. I bleached my hair again sometime in the summer but I forgot to ask for more conditioner. I was stupid and thought that the stuff probably didn't help much anyway. We went on a cabin trip back in September and I had a bad accident involving my hair, a round brush, and a really hot blow dryer!!! I was styling my hair like usual when I happened to look at my brush and I saw a huge singed chunk of hair in it. It was very scary and I cried just a little. Shortly after the trip I began to notice my hair breaking on other parts of my head. Not cool. I finally went in for another hair appointment where we didn't bleach my hair and she cut it a little above my shoulders. Even after the cut and condition my hair continues to break all over my head. I'm serious when I say the breakage is all over. It's really sad. I don't want to damage my hair anymore than it already is so I've stopped styling my hair straight altogether. So those of you that see me a lot be prepared to see me with my crispy hair.
This hairstyle isn't as flattering but it is super easy and I don't have to apply much heat to create it. I think my hair broke due to many reasons. I plan on buying a new blow dryer and brush and we shall see if that helps any. Wish me luck on my hair growing process!!!

P.S. I really like the shirt I'm wearing in these pictures!! I wear it a lot!

Clive Owen

So Grant downloaded Shoot 'Em Up and Sin City for me to see and I finally watched them. I didn't care for either movie actually. Sorry Clive!

Shoot 'Em Up was so unrealistic and kinda gross. The story was dumb and I didn't care for the characters. The action involving Clive was pretty cool but overall the movie was dumb and I didn't care for it. Don't waste your time to see this movie!

Sin City was lame. The movie is based on a Graphic Novel, which is an adult comic book, called Sin City by Frank Miller. The movie was just weird and didn't make much sense. The movie had 3 different stories going on and Clive was only in one. It went from one story to the other and they didn't really mesh well. This movie didn't do it for me. The movie was just dirty and messed up.

I really like Clive Owen and I'm sad that these movies sucked! If I had to recommend a Clive Owen film in would have to be King Arthur! This is the movie that got me into him.
King Arthur didn't get the greatest reviews because people were expecting the whole "Sword and the Stone" thing. This movie was based on what historians believe to be the true story behind King Arthur. I loved it!!!!!!! King Arthur was a great man and I think Clive did a great job portraying him. If you are sensitive to blood, gore and violence then don't see the Director's Cut.

Jeans

There are several different types of jeans out there in this world but for the most part women like their jeans to be tight. Jeans have a nice way of showing off the good parts of our female bodies that we might not think are so good. For instance, I like my butt but it isn't as big as I would like it to be. My favorite pair of jeans makes my little butt look AWESOME!!! In order for me to have a fabulous looking butt I have to buy tight jeans. Now let me tell you about my problem with tight jeans...
My jeans slide on until they hit my thighs. Once they make contact with the thighs I have to pull extra hard and shimmy into the jeans. This is a huge annoyance to me. I wonder if my body is abnormally shaped. My husband tells me that most girls probably have the same problem. I want to know if any of you other ladies have this same problem. Do any of you have to shimmy into your jeans too?

Kick Butt

Many of you already know that Grant loves action movies!!! What some of you don't know is that I like action movies too!! Grant lucked out when he got this hot chick who loves to play video games and watch action movies with him. Lucky man! At least he thinks so. I thought it would be fun to list some of my favorite "Kick Butt" action super stars. Originally I was going to rate them but that would be too difficult since they are all awesome. However..........the first on my list is hands down the most awesomest action hero of them all!!!! And the winner is.....

1. Daniel Craig as James Bond in Casino Royale and Quantum of SolaceJames Bond rocks. I always liked James Bond but I didn't LOVE James Bond until Casino Royale. That movie is awesome! I could watch it everyday and not get sick of it. Not only is the action amazing but Daniel Craig is hot and the story line is interesting. Quantum of Solace is good too but Grant and I both agree that Casino is better. Daniel Craig is the best (and hottest) James Bond yet. I highly recommend these movies!

2. Jason Statham as Frank Martin in Transporter 1,2, and 3 I'm under the impression that he does most of the fighting scenes himself which is pretty amazing. He, like Daniel Craig, is darn good looking and in incredible shape for his age. These are good movies that I also recommend. The 3rd one (in theaters now) is really good. I've seen it most recently so it is my favorite because it is fresh on my mind. I remember the other 2 being great too!!

3. Jet LiYou can't talk action movies without mentioning Jet Li. Let's face it.....the guy is awesome. He was like freakin' 3 years old when he became a wushu master or something. There are way too many movies for me to just pick one so I had Grant pick his favorite based on action and fighting. Grant says that hands down Fist of Legend has some of the best fighting scenes. The above picture is during the last and best fighting scene in the movie. He does some pretty cool stuff with his belt! Since this is mostly my blog I wanted to mention one of my favorite Jet Li movies... Fearless
I just like it. Everyone should see it. If you haven't seen a Jet Li movie then see this one. It is really good.
The Enforcer is another one I like. It is cute! Jet Li's character has a son that kick butts too. They fight together which is so adorable. I recommend this one too!

4. Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones Look at that hot scruff! I had a huge crush on Indiana Jones when I was a little girl. I always wanted him to save me with his whip and kiss me in the end. That never happened! Harrison looks his best in Raiders of the Lost Ark but my favorite story is the Last Crusade. He's just fabulous!

5. Takeshi Kaneshiro as Miyamoto in Returner
He's so beautiful. The movie has some good action but I mostly like to watch this movie to see him. He definitely has my vote for hottest Asian in the world!!!

6. Thomas Jane as Frank Castle in The PunisherThis movie is SWEET. The beginning is really sad but the ending has a big bang. The Punisher is based on a Comic book and the amazing part is that this hero is a human that bleeds. Most comic book characters are either a mutant or alien or have been bitten by a spider or been some kind of experimental mistake, but the Punisher is a breathing, bleeding human that wants his revenge. He Rocks!!!

7. Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight He is the best Batman in my opinion! Another comic book character that is human and kicks butt. I just love how he is so clever and risks his life to save others. Outstanding!!! Christian Bale as John Preston in Equilibrium is good too! The movie is a little different but the action is great. They used a martial art form using guns that kinda rocks.

8. Matt Damon as Jason Bourne in The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum
If I had to pick my favorite I would choose The Bourne Supremacy. They are all good though. The action in these movies is incredible. I'm literally on the edge of my seat the whole time. Matt Damon did good when he agreed to do these movies!!!

9. Timothy Olyphant as Agent 47 in Hitman
I've only seen this movie once, but I remember really liking it. Good fighting!

10. Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer in 24
This is the best TV show!! This show is so suspenseful and wonderful. My favorite Season is Season 2! I love the characters and the story line. Season 2 has the best president too. I totally recommend that everyone watch this show. You need to start with Season 1 if you want to understand what is going on.

11. Luke Goss as Prince Nuada in Hellboy II The Golden Army
Yes he's the bad guy but this man can fight!! The only thing I can think of to say about this movie is...... Awesome! Everyone needs to see this movie and watch this guy. I just love it!

12. Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
YUMMY! The Lord of the Rings is my FAVORITE MOVIE!!!!! The action in these movies is different because they fight with swords, staffs and arrows but Aragorn is the man non the less. So masculine....mmmm...

13. Antonio Banderas as Alejandro Murrieta/Zorro in The Mask of Zorro and The Legend of Zorro
I saw The Mask of Zorro for the first time in my Spanish class my Freshman year of High School. I fell in love with the the character! Everyone loves Zorro right?

14. Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker in Spider-man 1,2 and 3
Spider-man is my favorite Comic book character ever! I just love to watch him swing from buildings with his webs and flip and spiral through the air! Fabulous! He's pretty awesome as the black Spider-man too!

15. Brendan Fraser as Rick O'Connell in The Mummy, The Mummy Returns and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
Brendan Fraser was my High School crush. I watched The Mummy almost everyday. You could ask my mom. Not the most action packed movie but Rick is Hot and manly!!!!

16. Vin Diesel as Richard B. Riddick in Chronicles of Riddick
I had to put a Vin Diesel movie in my blog. This one is pretty good! Vin knows how to do action!

17. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Beck in The Rundown Not only is this movie action packed but it has some comedy. Seann William Scott brings in some comedy relief. This is a great movie. I recommend that everyone see this.

18. Clive Owen as Smith in Shoot 'Em Up
I actually haven't seen this movie but the trailer looked awesome. I like Clive so I wanted to put him in my blog. Clive Owen as Dwight in Sin City. I haven't seen this movie either but I liked this picture better than his other one!

19. Jim Caviezel as Edmond Dantes in The Count of Monte Cristo
Not much of an action movie but I love how Edmond plans and executes his revenge. He goes from knowing nothing about fighting to hurting everyone that hurt him in his past!
20. Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo in Rambo (All of them)
I had to put in a legend. Let's face it....Stallone is an all time favorite of every American!

So these are only some of my favorite action movie characters. This blog would go on forever if I mentioned them all. Hope you enjoyed!!

P.S. Grant is downloading Shoot 'Em Up and Sin City so I can decide if I really like them. I'll keep you all posted.
