Shawn and Mark won Season 8 of Dancing With the Stars!!!

Thank You Freestyle

The finals just ended and it was amazing.

The night started with all 3 couples doing a Paso Doble to the same song. Everyone did great.

As I suspected, the judges were harsh on Shawn for being young and not connecting with her partner. She received a 28 out of 30 for her Paso.

Melissa did a graceful Paso and received a 29 out of 30.

Gillis of course was sexy and received a 30 for his Paso Doble.

Then came the Freestyle round! I always expect the freestyle dances to blow me away and this season they didn't.....except......

Shawn and Mark!!!

They were Outstanding. The judges loved it and so did the crowd. They received a perfect 30!! Giving them a combined score of 58 out of 60! Great job!

Melissa and Tony did a freestyle full of tricks that didn't please me or the judges. They got a 27 giving them a combined score of 56.

Gillis did a dance that wasn't really much of a dance. It didn't do anything for me and the judges were disappointed just as much as I was. They scored a 28 giving them a combined score of 58.

So that puts Shawn and Gillis at the top and Melissa close behind.

Thanks to that Freestyle....Shawn and Mark might have a chance at winning this thing!!

The Finals

The Finals of Dancing With The Stars is tomorrow night and I'm so excited. This has been an amazing season full of talent and surprises. My three favorite people have made it to the finals:

Shawn and Mark

Melissa and Tony

Gillis and Cheryl

I've been voting for Shawn and Mark all season but I'm afraid that the mirror ball trophy will go to either Melissa or Gillis. I'm pretty sure that they have better fan bases and the judges love them more than Shawn.

Shawn is young and I think the judges look down on that. Despite the fact that she is young I think that she has danced the best on this show this season. The athletes always do well on Dancing With The Stars. Her technique is amazing and I hope that she shines tomorrow night.

Melissa did ballet as a young girl and she has brought that technique to the competition. She is a very talented dancer but I think the trophy should go to someone that has no previous dancing experience. It would be like me going on the show with my 12 years dance experience and winning over 12 other people that have never danced before and might be twice my age. It doesn't seem fair for her to win.

Gillis would probably deserve this win the most because he is no athlete and no dancer. He won the judges' hearts from the very beginning. However, he hasn't been very versatile. He does very well on the Latin dances but his ballroom isn't very good. He does well with the sexy dances but his jive and jitter bug kind of dances are lame.

It will be exciting to see these three dancers tomorrow night! I'm hoping that Shawn with perform perfectly and that the judges will be nice and judge fairly.

My Near Death Experience

In my last post I answered a "yes" to a near death experience. I thought I would explain why I put a yes for that question.

I've never really been in any serious near death experiences but there were times when I could have died or thought I was going to be killed!

I remember a time when I was a young girl where my family was on a family vacation. It was Christmas time and we were driving to Pennsylvania to visit family. The snow was really bad and my dad was having a hard time seeing the road. I was asleep in the back of the station wagon with the rest of my siblings when I felt the car spin out of control and heard both of my parents scream! It was pretty scary. My mom told us that we almost died!

There was this other time when I was also a young girl and I was playing in the backyard. My mom didn't like us playing in the front yard all that much because there was no fence to keep us safe. Anyway I was playing in the backyard and my mom got this prompting to have me play in the front yard. I listened to my mom and went to the front yard to play and shortly after I left, a huge tree branch fell and landed on the ground right where I had been playing in the backyard. I was a small girl and this branch was really big so if it had landed on me I could have been seriously injured!

When I was 19 years old I drove to Downtown Houston with one of my girlfriends to go to a singles dance. We usually car pooled with other single people from our stake institute but I had to work late that night and so we decided to drive ourselves. We forgot what exit we were supposed to take and we ended up taking the wrong one. We were so lost. We stopped at a gas station to ask for directions but the employees were behind a bullet proof glass wall. We were really freaked out by that. We walked back to the car and it was surrounded by crazy men that were looking us up and down and whistling at us. It was really scary! I thought we were going to get shot or raped!!

I overdosed on medicine once by complete accident!! Nothing happened but I remember being really freaked out when I discovered that it was a miracle I woke up in the morning!

So nothing too serious but they are reasons to fear death!

Hair Obsession

I love to get my hair done!!! There is something about being in the salon and coming out looking like a star that I'm completely obsessed about! I always love to take pictures of myself after I've gotten my hair done at the salon. Here are some pictures of my last salon visit (which was actually a little over a month ago).

I love taking pictures too! What would I do without a camera?
